Modest Petrovich Mussorgsky
モデスト・ムソルグスキー
略歴
6歳から母の手ほどきでピアノを始める。1856年プレオプラジェンスキー近衛連隊に入隊後、バラキレフの指導のもとで歌曲とピアノ曲などの習作を手がける。1863年以降は独学的に作曲を進めていくが、批評家たちには受けが悪く、強い批判を浴びる。実生活でも母の死から深刻なアルコール依存症に陥るほか、公務員としての生活は長く安定しなかった。1880年に公務員の地位を追われ、翌年には4度の心臓発作に見舞われ入院。42歳で死去。
